Jan Stastny and Ferenc Deak

Capt. Jan Stastny, pilot RAF, was lost in the Channel durring attack on port Brest in 1943.He is mentioned on panel memorial of pilots # 129 at Runnymede,UK.

He is related to my husband family.

Ferenc Deák , 1803-76, Hungarian politician. A landed proprietor and lawyer, he became minister of justice after the revolution of 1848 and became the recognized leader of his nation. Though always advocating the continued union of Austria and Hungary, he insisted on the restoration of the Hungarian constitution of 1848. This was the basis of the negotiations (1867) between Deak and the Austrian chancellor, F. F. Beust, which resulted in establishing the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy

I am proud that he is in my father ancestor line.
